CAIN (Churches active in Northside) is close to reaching the fundraising goal for the 2014 Freestore Foodbank (FSFB) Hunger Walk and 5K Run. A number of individuals and businesses have donated, but they need a larger neighborhood participation to make the goal, and receive a $5,000 capacity building grant they have been identified for by the FSFB.

The 11th Annual Freestore Foodbank Memorial Day Hunger Walk to benefit Northside’s Rainbow Choice Food Pantry. CAIN – Churches Active In Northside – provides food and other necessities to 45223 residents.You can walk, run, stroll – or sit it out – and help “Northside Walks with CAIN” reach the goal of $10,000 which means 25 TONS of food, fresh produce, hygiene items, baby food and diapers, and household products for your neighbors!
With your help (less than $3,000 to go) CAIN will be eligible to win an incentive grant of $5000 for capacity building.
If you can join them on Monday: BE SURE TO GATHER AT THE CAIN TENT! It is a great event and wonderful way to spend part of your holiday weekend helping others all summer long by helping to fill CAIN’s food pantry shelves. Day of registration begins at 7am and 9am is start time for runners and walkers. Pick up your commemorative cap silkscreened with Northside/CAIN logos.
